My name is Jay Cheplowitz.  I started buying and renovating properties in the campus area while I was a student at OSU during the early 1980's. At heart I'm a renovator that loves transforming old, maintenance-impaired buildings into well-maintained, affordable apartments with character.  Yes, all the interior and exterior renovations were done or supervised by yours truly.  My love for renovation and attention to detail is why I'm sure you'll be satisfied with my apartments.  All of my homes and apartments are unique.  None of them are apartment complex, "cookie-cutter" style units.

     In the mid 1990's I discovered the internet as a way to efficiently market properties.  I started www.Metro-Rentals.com as a way to bring together both  landlords and tenants interested in the urban areas. As both businesses continue to grow, Mary Cheplowitz (my wife) has taken over the management of the properties.

     We  have efficiency, single bedroom apartments,  and competitively priced two to four bedroom apartments and houses.  No matter which apartment or house you choose, I hope you will move in, plant some flowers, and call it home for a long while.

     Once you have selected and apartment from our ad that you'd like to see, feel free to drive by and check out the neighborhood, but please don't disturb the current tenants.  We always meet our prospective tenants to show them the apartment, and never ask our current tenants to show their apartments.  We charge a $25 fee on all applications.  Most of our leases are for one year, and then go to a month-to-month tenancy thereafter, except in the OSU area, where all leases start with the academic year in September.  Sometimes we will lease some units for a shorter term at a premium.

     When you rent from us, you won't be dealing with a big, impersonal management company.  We own, manage, renovate, and maintain all our own units.
