The Jeffrey Manufacturing Company was the world’s
leading producer of mining, convening and heavy
industrial equipment for nearly 100 years. Two unique
structures make up the project. The original world
headquarters building, now The Jeffrey, built in 1924,
and its adjacent Research & Development building, now
known as The Metal Works. Floor-to-ceiling marble in The
Jeffrey’s Grand Lobby echoes greatness from 73 years ago
now complete with an espresso bar and billiards room.
Today, the same elegance is restored throughout each
residence — hardwood floors, crown molding, coffered
ceilings, stainless steel appliances and the finest
reproduction fixtures. True to its origins, the Metal
Works has been re-engineered to capture the form and
function of raw, industrial loft space. Polished
concrete flooring and original steel beams anchor its
raw industrial surroundings. The project includes 65
one- or two-bedroom luxury apartments in the classic
revival-style Jeffrey building and 33 raw loft-style
apartments in the adjoining industrial Metal Works
building.
