How often is the information updated on the web site?

As many times as necessary throughout the day. We make changes as fast as we can after we receive them from the property owners that advertise with us. Most pages will post the time and date of the last update at the bottom of the page. Sometimes you may need to refresh your browser as some computers will save a previously view page for an extended length of time. To manually refresh your browser, press the "F5" key on your keyboard.

How far in advance are properties listed for rent?

We recommend owners list their properties as much as 90 days in advance, but no less than 30 days in advance of it becoming available for move in, but it does depend on the preference of the property manager. Some owners may only be able to list 30 days in advance or when they receive notice their existing tenants are leaving.

I'm searching for a place well in advance of most of the listings on the site. What is the best way for me find a property?

Keep checking the site as it is updated daily. Find a listing of a property that interests you even if it is currently available and follow the link in the ad to see what other properties the owner may have. That link will take you to that particular owner's individual page where you may find other properties that owner has that are not posted on the classified page. Contact that owner to inquire about future availability of a specific property or something you are looking for.

I found a place I liked on the site but when I contacted the owner it was unavailable or I was redirected to another property. Why the bait and switch?

On occasion, property managers forget to let us know when they lease an available home. We highly encourage managers to keep their listings current and usually there really is no financial benefit to them to keep listings that are not current. Sometimes we may miss removing an ad for a property listed in multiple sections on our site. Please email us to report any inaccuracies or unavailable listings on our site that are not clearly marked.

Can I advertise my apartment or home for sublet?

Yes. We do provide this service for residents who have a need to sublet the property. We highly encourage you to check with your property manager first to make sure that subletting is allowed. They may have resources or waitlists for your home already. After receiving authorization from your management company, contact the Metro-Rentals.com Advertising and Marketing team to begin placing your advertisement.
